** A reverse bend is: When bending on the Micro Bender making a square or a pentagon shape is what we call a closed bend as the shape is being closed and the steel ends will eventually touch. A reverse or “s” bend is where the second bend is bringing the steel away from the original bend i.e. like a zig zag effect. Reason you can only use a lighter gauge material on a reverse bend is because when reverse bending the steel needs to sit on the recessed part of the die ( if the reverse bend is tight ) which is only half the width and so the bent steel does not have the full support of the die.
